Walter Hopkins

LaFAYETTE Walter "Jack" Hopkins, 63, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012. He was born to the late Walter Jack Hopkins Sr. and Georgia Hopkins in LaFayette on June 25, 1949. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired Major with the Walker County Sheriff's Department and he enjoyed spending time with his family.He was also preceded in death by his Wife, Peggy Hopkins; and Brother, Frank Hopkins.Survivors include his Children, Randy (Duana) Hopkins, Kevin (Dee) Hopkins, Jennifer (Jacob) Lawrence, all of LaFayette; Brother, Albert Hopkins, of Kensington; Grandchildren, Matthew, Amy and Ashley Hopkins, Samantha Vaughn, Paige and Cherish Hopkins, Angel Redman, Cassidy, Justin and Isaac Lawrence; Great Grandchildren, Elyjah and Kysen Goins, Hunter and Emily Barrett. The family will receive friends from 4 - 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Clay Powell officiating.
