Barbara Anne Davis, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Life Care Center of Collegedale, after battling cancer for over three years, and being a courageous and positive example for others.Barbara was an active member of Brainerd United Methodist Church, a member of the McFerrin Sunday School class, and associated with various roles and organizations within the church for over 45 years. Barbara graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as Magna Cum Laude, with a B.S. degree in Business Management and an MBA in business administration. Barbara retired from government service after 30 plus years of tenure and many roles of increased responsibility, with the Atomic Energy Commission and the Tennessee Valley Authority.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jack Davis, of Chattanooga; a son, David J. Davis, of Chattanooga; two grandchildren in Orlando, Florida, Kaitlyn N. Davis and Colton J. Davis. Barbara has many cousins, nephews, nieces, and loving friends whom she always considered "immediate family."The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, September 17, in the McFerrin Chapel, at Brainerd United Methodist Church.
