Warren Hughes

RINGGOLD Warren Gamaliel Hughes, of Chattanooga, Tenn., area for many years, died in Salt Lake City on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012. He was the son of the late Henry Edgar and Mary Lusk Hughes.He was also preceded in death by his son, Hank Hughes. He was retired as general construction superintendent at Pinkerton and Laws Co. He served in the U.S.Navel Reserve during WWII as air navigator and air navigation instructor. He was a member of Ringgold Kiwanis Club, Oklahoma City Masonic Lodge #36 AF & AM, and Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for 62 years. He had a love for building and for his community and gave much time and energy to Habitat for Humanity in Chattanooga and Catoosa County. He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Ringgold.He is survived by by his wife, Dixie Burke Hughes; son, Greg (Lana) Hughes; daughters, Della, Tracy and Lisa Hughes; step-children, Malcolm (Emily) Boothroyd, Teresa Hines and Mark Boothroyd; grandchildren, Kris, Jennifer, Ryan, Rachel and Ali; sister, Margaret Goble.Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. at Ringgold First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Whitaker and Reverend Jim Bailiff officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Ringgold Kiwanis Club.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity Catoosa County or the greater Chattanooga area.The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
