Ben Hudson

POWELLS CROSSROADS Benjamin Franklin Hudson went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.Ben lived quite a colorful 89 almost 90 years filled with joy and good health in his adult life. He was one of the original moonshine racecar drivers and later enjoyed his life on his crop/cattle farm in Powells Crossroads where he worked until the day he died surrounded by his loving supportive family. He will be greatly missed as it would be hard to find someone who didnt know Ben Hudson. He touched many lives. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his son, Teaman Hudson; parents, Teaman and Annie Hudson; sister, Lela Hoodenpyle; brother, Henry T. Hudson.Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Connie (Lamarr) Robinson, of Raleigh, N.C., Sharon (Pat) Petty, of Powells Crossroads; five grandchildren, Marc Hudson, Bryan Petty, Ben Petty, Angie Eddins, Renee Crocker; six great-grandchildren, Hudson Petty, Bryce Crocker, Taylor Crocker, Aaron Eddins, Amanda Eddins and Chelsea Hudson.Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., CST, today.Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., CST, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Rev. Cecil Baxter officiating. Arrangements are by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home 423-658-7777.
