TRENTON Frank Rudolph "Rudy" Thompson, 87, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. He was the son of the late James A. and Lillian Thompson of Dalton, Ga. For four years, Rudolph served in the U.S. Marines and was stationed in Pearl Harbor among other battle theaters. He served three years in the National Guard after WWII. Rudolph retired from Georgia Power Co. after 39 years of service, and he liked to be known as the "lineman for the county." After retirement, Rudolph served as a bailiff for 25 years in Dade County Courts. The Lookout Mountain Bar Association awarded him the Liberty Bell Award in 2002. With 12 years of perfect attendance, he also served as a past president of the Lion's Club. He was of the Methodist faith.Rudolph is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Felker Thompson, of Trenton, daughter, Sandra (Dr. Bill) Pullen Jr.; and a brother, James (Helen) Thompson, of Powder Springs, Ga.
