Jr.John Grey "Mississippi" Winfield Jr., 78, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at a local healthcare facility.He was born on Sept. 11, 1934 in London, Ala. John was a devoted employee at U.S. Pipe and Foundry.He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Jason R. Winfield; Jasons mother, Sharon Allen; his daughter, Jackie Mathews; devoted friend, John Mathews; sisters, Shirley Batts, of Chattanooga; Willie Grace Lewis, of Livingston, Ala., Linda, Helen, Mary Winfield, of Mobile, Ala.; brothers, Paul Winfield on Mobile, Ala.; Jessie and Johnny Winfield, of Chattanooga; a host of family and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, April 5, 2013 in the chapel.Interment in Highland Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
