Tillie Newman

Tillie Jeanette Newman, 81, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was a member of the East 34th Baptist Church. She was previously employed with White Star Laundry for many years as well as Crystal Springs in Chickamauga, Ga. Her passion in life was being with and taking care of her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.Survivors include her children and spouses, Sam and (Kim) Newman, Amos and (Sandra) Newman, George and (Joy) Newman, Sr., Lebron and (Deborah) Newman and Joyce Ann and (David) Carroll all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at Noon Wednesday, April 10, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
