Archie Bibbey

Archie Almon Bibbey, 97, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Hospice Care Center.Archies precious family decided to remember him in a unique way. Our beloved Archie always had a knack for making a splash when he entered the room. He was a Christian, devoted husband, father, college graduate, farmer, teacher, antique dealer, furniture refinisher, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, bossy, opinionated, amazing, storyteller, poet and friend. You could say Archie had two loves in his life time. His beloved wife of 78 years Wilma Bacon Bibbey. Archie was always proud to tell everyone he brought home the bacon. His second love was his garden.Early years on the farm with his family and living through the depression deepened his love of planting. His garden in later years was more like an Easter Egg hunt. He never did things the conventional way and that's what made him Archie. He was very proud to share his techniques and food from his garden and was so excited come planting time.As Archie approached the end of his life and he took a look back, his biggest accomplishment was marrying his sweetheart Wilma. They dated for two years and spent nearly 80 years together. They never said goodbye to one another but see you later. In closing, Archie secret to a long life was Never get a flu shot and Never get a credit card.Flu shots make you sick and credit cards will kill you.He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Hillcrest Church of Christ, Amediyisis Home Health in Dalton, Memorial Hospital, Hospice Care Center, In Good Health, Tunnel Hill Fire Department and Eddie Test Medical. No service of any kind per our Archie's request. He was a firm believer in finding the humor in the saddest situations. Remember him and tell his stories and he will live on forever. Each life is truly unique and our Archie lived "A Wonderful Life".We love you Archie! Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
