LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN Brenda Rose Giddens, 70, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at her residence.She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, North Georgia area and member of Lookout Mountain United Methodist Church for 51 years. Mrs. Giddens loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She worked at Rockwell International, Coca Cola Bottling, Shaw Industries, Dillon Supply and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She is preceded in death by parents Walter and Ethel Sprouse; brothers, Roy Sprouse and Richard Boyd; and sisters Edna Joyce and Dorris Shaw. Mrs. Giddens is survived by husband of 51 years, Gary Giddens; daughters Cheryl Giddens, Fort Oglethorpe, Amiy (Jeremey) Boyd Downing, Kathleen, Ga., LaRae Boyd, Chattanooga; brother, Jimmy Boyd, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Braxton Shaw, James Boyd, Chase and Cameron Downing; Bailey and Riley, godchildren, Bryan (Pope) Shaw, Flintstone, Chanda (Kevin) Thompson, Fort Oglethorpe; special caregiver Dianne Goins, and many other nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, at Lookout Mountain Methodist Church with Pastor Ambrose Havey, Dr. Tom Deaton, and Pastor Cecil Gravitt officiating.
