Ernest Shaver

ROSSVILLE Ernest Leroy Shaver, 88, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. Mr. Shaver was a lifelong resident of Rossville and longtime member of Lakeview First Baptist Church. He had a great love for his country. Ernest was a US Army veteran having served in the Pacific during WWII. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, traveling with seniors in the Sunshiners group, and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by first wife, Mary K. Shaver; son, James "Eddie" Shaver; siblings, Llano Shaver, Edwin Shaver, Lucille Pickard, William Raymond Shaver, and Lorena Weaver.Survivors are wife, Jo Ann Shaver; son, Mark Shaver, Rossville; daughter, Luanne Atkins, Marietta; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Patrick Cooper and the Rev. David Pickard officiating.
