Eric Monte Robinson, 58, after a lengthy illness, he departed this life and went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 7, 2013.He was born to the late Anna Lee Robinson and the late John Henry Robinson Sr. in Chattanooga, on Jan. 12, 1955.He attended public school in Chattanooga, completing his education at Riverside High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church. He later united with New Horizon Baptist Church, Chattanooga. Eric Monte was fondly known in the community as "EL MONTE".He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna L. Robinson; father, John H. Robinson Sr.; brothers, John H. Robinson Jr., Andrew Robinson, Anthony L. Robinson, Leonard W. Robinson, Darryl L. Robinson, and Kenneth D. Robinson.Eric is survived by his son, Eric Robinson; daughter, Tammy Jackson, of Chattanooga; sisters, Johnetta Graves, Huntsville, Alaa. and Kimberly Rawlings (Dennis), Chattanooga; brothers, Curtis J. Robinson and Tommy T. Robinson, Chattanooga; uncles, Milton Jackson and Leonard Jackson, Chattanooga; step-mother, Susie Robinson, Athens, Ga.; stepbrother, Gary Moore, Stone Mountain, Ga.; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at National Cemetery with Rev. Willie Paul officiating.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
