CHICKAMAUGA Glen Peterson, 75, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013.He was born in Poplar, N.C., to the late Neal and Ruby Peterson. He had resided in Poplar and Chickamauga for most of his life. He was the former owner/operator of Peterson Insulation and had also worked for the state of North Carolina as a truck driver. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a proud American and Patriot. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Chickamauga where he was an usher and member of the Good News Sunday School Class. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War at the local Chickamauga Post. He had also been a longtime member of the National Rifle Association.He is survived by his wife: Sue Peterson of Chickamauga, Ga.; their children: Lisa Peterson, of Flintstone, Ga., Sherry (Curtis) Lones, of Ringgold, GA, Bobby (Tina) Jackson Jr., of Rossville; brother: Jay Peterson, of Poplar, N.C.; grandchildren, Damion Peterson, of Ringgold, Derrell (Jill) Goode, of Montgomery, Ala., Cody Lones, of Ringgold, Tyler Lones serving in Afghanistan, Taylor Lones, of Ringgold, Savannah Jackson, of Rossville; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Goode; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Warren Moorehead, Tom Whitsett, Marvin Miller and Lee Griggs officiating.Burial will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery, Chickamauga.Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes, Chickamauga Chapel, Chickamauga.
