Brandy Davis

Carolyn Rollins Davis, 62, of Chattanooga, the daughter of Thomas Gaston Rollins Jr. and Margaret Louise Crabtree Rollins, of Durham, N.C., passed away peacefully at her home in Chattanooga during the early morning hours of Friday, April 19, 2013.She had been battling ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) for roughly two years. Brandy, at some point in her life, either made music, danced, gardened or worked with animals, all of which she loved. She was a passionate advocate for real, local food, and for caring for our environment. A graduate of NC State University, she was a homeschooler, and a loving mother and wife. She was also a very strong and compassionate believer in Christ. She will be greatly missed.Brandy is survived by her husband, James Richter Davis (Rick); a sister, Pat Rollins Marshall, of Hixson; four children, Elisabeth Davis Rayner, of Los Angeles, Calif., John Paul Davis, of New York City, Natalie Christiane Davis, of Virginia, and Charis Star Davis, of Durham, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Bella, Colum, Brennan, Christopher, Cherokee and Hunter; a niece, Hope Freytag, San Destin, Fla.; a nephew, Tom Marshall, of Hixson; two grandnieces, Savannah Marshall and Halyn Marshall, of Hixson; and two grandnephews, Chance Freytag, of San Destin, Fla., and Will Marshall, of Hixson.The family will receive friends from 4:30-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in the funeral home chapel.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Brandys name to the Main Street Farmers' Market (in Chattanooga) by check made out to the Main Street Farmers Market, and please put "In memory of Brandy Davis" in the memo line.
