Roosevelt Pettit Jr.Roosevelt Pettit Jr., 63, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at a local hospital.He was born on Feb. 13, 1950 in Alvin, Texas to the union of Roosevelt Sr. and Robbie Gregg Pettit.Preceding him in death are his parents; maternal grandparents; nephew, Marcus Pettit; and sister, Mary Pettit Hughes.Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marilyn Thomas Pettit; daughters, Lillian (James) Bugsby, Yolanda Debose and stepdaughter, Tiara (Timothy) Turner; sons, Bradley Pettie, Lancer Debose; and stepsons, Dwight and Devin Weaver; brother, Otis (Berniece) Pettit; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013, in the chapel.Interment in National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
