Delpha Lopez

Delpha Weir Lopez, 81, of Collegedale, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013. A native of Loma Linda, Calif., she has been a resident of the Collegedale area for the past three years and was a member of McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a retired Registered Nurse and was an avid bird watcher. She also loved stamping, sewing and camping.Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Ruben Lopez; two daughters, Rebecca Lopez Thompson, Collegedale and Tamara Lopez (Russell) Libonati, Melbourne, Fla.; two sons, Ruben Kent (Cindy) Lopez, Olympia, Washington and Thomas L. (Elena) Lopez, Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren, Sonja, Graham, Ryan, Vanessa, Andrew and Tatiana; two great-grandchildren, Shayne and Rylie; brother, Olavi E. (Carolyn) Weir, Angwin, Calif.; niece, Beth and nephew, Ed.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church with Kent Lopez officiating.Inurnment will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday before the service at the church.Please share your memories at ChattanoogaValleyViewChapel.com.Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
