Charles Criswell

Charles F. Criswell, 74, of Ooltewah, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013.Mr. Criswell was born in Macon, Ga., and was raised in Orlando, Fla. After graduation, Charles joined the US Air Force where he played football while stationed in Europe. He left the military and pursued a career as an air traffic controller in various cities, retiring after 38 years. After retirement, he served as an independent consultant for the aviation industry. He was a dedicated family man who loved to play and coach football.He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lillian Criswell.Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Criswell; children, Darrall (Linda) Criswell, of Houston, Texas, Cheryl (Ray) Alonge, of Ooltewah, Mike (Michaelene) Criswell, of Coral Springs, Fla., and Tim (Angie) Criswell, of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Carlie (Kevin) Yeager, Jordan Alonge, Jarrod Alonge, Noah Alonge, Madison Campbell, Gillian Criswell, Ava Criswell and Lucy Criswell; great-granddaughter, Dentyn Yeager; brothers, Fred (Elizabeth) Criswell and John (Nancy) Criswell; sister, Deborah (Michael) Barlow; and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.Funeral Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, at the funeral home.Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Mt.
