Rhoda Whaley

RINGGOLD Rhoda Juanita Lawson Whaley, 78, passed away, Monday, Aug. 5, 2013.She was born to the late Charles and Mada Mae Rector Lawson in South Pittsburg, Tenn., before moving to the Chattanooga area in the early 60's. Juanita was of the Baptist faith and retired from Whaleys Used Cars in 2000 after 34 years.She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Lawson; granddaughter, Tasha Belk; and stepson, Wilburn Whaley Jr.Juanita is survived by her husband, of 30 years, Bo Whaley; children, Diane (Raymond) Farrow, of Chattanooga, Pat (Bill) Byrd, of Ooltewah, Ricky (Stephanie) Belk, of Ringgold and Tommy Belk, of Chattanooga; stepdaughters, Connie Ann (John) Weir, of Rossville and Karen Lynn Alderman, of Ringgold; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Richard Jones officiating.Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and prior to the service on Thursday.Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis Stewart Chapel.
