Hardin Murdock

Harry Hardin Murdock, 64, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.He was born in Chattanooga on June 8, 1949, oldest son of the late Harry B. Murdock and Mary Helen Hardin "Suzy" Murdock.Hardin was a McCallie School graduate and an avid sports fan who played first base for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and for several summer teams as well. He followed golf and other sports closely and frequently loved to pay homage to professional sports legends. He worked in warehousing and the food service industries for many years.Survivors include his son, Ian Murdock; brother, Chuck Murdock; two sisters, Dana (Jack) Sokohl and Cydne Hammond; five nephews, John, Chris, and Alex Sokohl, Michael and Dennis Hammond; two great-nieces and two great-nephews.The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 8, 2013, at the funeral home.A private graveside burial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Bible Village.Visit www.hamiltonfuneraloptions.com to share words of condolences.Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson 37343. 423-531-3975.
