Douglas Brady

Douglas Page Brady, 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013.He was born on March 27, 1932 in Kochi, Japan., where his parents, Rev. J. Harper Brady and Willie Robertson Brady were missionaries.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Polly Gollan; and brothers, John H. Brady Jr. and William Robertson Brady.He was a graduate of King College and served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was employed with First Federal Savings and Loan Association as vice president for 32 years and retired from Amsouth Bank.He was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, church treasurer and enjoying singing in the choir.He was an active member, former board member, and club treasurer for more than 15 years of the Chattanooga Civitan Club, and was the caller for the Circle Eights Square Dance Club for 35 years.He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Peggy McCamish Brady; his nieces, Susan Dorning, Portland, Ore., Carol McGlothlin, Nicholasville, Ky., Tricia Bullman, Milton, Ga., and Nancy Gollan, Houston, Texas. His nephews, Rev. Harper Brady, Monroeville, Pa., Allen Brady and William Brady, of Portland Oregon. His sisters-in-law, Annie Brady, Black Mountain, N.C., and Elizabeth Brady, Houston, Texas. He is also survived by honorary family members, Gerry Driggans, Rick, Judy and Andy Driggans, Cliff, Debbie and Hailey Hunt and Britt and Carol Blalock and family. He also had many cherished friends.The family will receive friends at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 104 McBrien Road from 1-2 p.m. today, Aug. 9.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at the Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Frank Jump and the Rev. Harper Brady officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
