Vanessa Ann Russell, 55, departed this life, Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, while in a local hospital.Vanessa attended Brainerd High School and was loved by many.She leaves to cherish her memory; mother, Willie Oden; children, Brandi Russell, Veshay (Andrian) Johnson and Racquel Russell; sisters, Faye Phearse and Vickie (Bobby) Barnes; brother, Leoma Russell Jr.; a host of relatives and many friends.Even though Vanessa was truly loved here on earth, God loved her the most. God saw her battle was getting too hard and now He has given her rest. Your memory will live on forever.Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in the Chapel.Interment in Highland Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 7 8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
