Mary Thomison

FORT OGLETHORPE Mary Catherine Thomison, affectionately known as "Ms Kitty" passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at home surrounded by her family.She has been a resident of North Georgia for the past 43 years and was of the Christian faith. Mary retired from the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union in 1983 and was the interim director to the Ft. Oglethorpe Housing Authority in 1992.Ms. Kitty was preceded in death by her husband, Ray B. Thomison Sr.; parents, Lemuel and Jessie Dill; and sisters, Edie Hemphill and Peggy Lorenzen.She is survived by her children, Debbie (Mike) Freeman, of Rock Spring, Cathy Rae (Jim) Hulsey, of Henagar, and Ray B. (Starr) Thomison Jr., of Chickamauga; brother, Everett (Sally) Dill, of Delaware; and grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating.Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. today and prior to the service on Thursday.The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. William Horton, nurse Diane Case of Hearth Hospice, Caregiver-Tami Orr.Also special friends, Butch and Sheila, Sue and Clifford and Ricky and Greta for their love and friendship to our mother.
