Sr.FRANKLIN SPRINGS Levon Calvin Register Sr., 85, (formerly of Signal Mountain) passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at the St. Marys Hospital in Athens, Ga.Mr. Register was born in Vero Beach, Fla. on Oct. 23, 1927, son of the late Abbott D. Register and the late Ivy Benton Register. He was a CPA as well as a Partner with Arthur Anderson & Co. and attended the Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a member of the Emmanuel College Board of Education for 35 years along with many other organizations and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Register was preceded in death by his wife, Elmaise Turnage Register.They shared a passion for antiques and were avid collectors/dealers.Mr. Register was loved by many and will be greatly missed.Survivors include his children and their spouses, Levon (Ruth) Register II, of Colbert, Ga., Dan (Sarah) Register, of Havana, Fla., Vicki (Skip) Eldredge, of Athens, Ga., and Bette (Jamey) Rogers, of Franklin Springs, Ga./Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Gene Register, of Melborne, Fla., and Glen Register, of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters, Evelyn Register Kunkler, of Tampa, Fla..Funeral services for Mr. Register will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 17, 2013, at Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. C.Y.
