Howard Worde

TRENTON Howard Worde, 77, left this earth on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, after an extended illness. He is now at rest with his Lord. Howard served during his working years in Retail Management. After retirement, he became an entrepreneur in small businesses and real estate. Howard was proud to be counted among the ranks of the Masons.Howard is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Prince Worde; his children, Randy and Gail Worde, of Savannah, Cynthia and Anderson Vilela, of Norcross and Mitch Griffin, of Trenton. The joys of his heart, his grandchildren have also survived him. They are Ryan Griffin, Tyler Griffin, Heather and Stephen Duncan and Donald Humphries. Howards nieces and nephews are Sheri Worde Owenby, Scott Worde, Mark Jones, Benjamin Hamby and Alex Hamby. His cousin, Marie McLemore, was a special light to Howard.The family extends a special thanks to June Daniels for her unending support of Nancy and Howard during these difficult times. Throughout the years, the residents of Cedar Terrace in Maryville, Tenn., and the folks we have spent time with in Trenton, Ga., have become special friends and have brightened our days in good times and in bad. You have our heartfelt thanks.A graveside prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 23, 2013, at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens in Trenton.
