ACWORTH Rev. Max Dorton Burgess, 76, passed away at home with his family Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013.Rev. Burgess was born Walker County, Ga. Max built and was minister of his first church, Rising Fawn Church of God, Rising Fawn, Ga, then he was at Kennesaw Church of God, Livonia Church of God, Smyrna Church of God, Canton Sunnyside Church of God, Oakdale Church of God, Toonigh Church of God. He was also on the North Georgia Evangelistic Team and in the ministry for a total of over 50 years.Survived by his wife, Eveline Burgess, of Acworth; son, Matthew Burgess (Edie Burgess) , of Ballground; daughter, Janice Anderson (Hal Anderson), of Cartersville; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Saturday, Aug. 24, at The Church at Liberty Square, in Cartersville, with remains placed instate at 10 a.m. the Rev. Joe Edwards and Rev.
