Betty Norman

DAYTON Delia Elizabeth B. Norman, "Miss Betty", passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, in Shreveport, La.She moved from Dayton in 2000 to Minden, La., to live near her daughter. She would have celebrated her 89th birthday on Aug. 30. She had been hospitalized from the first part of July. A former resident of Evensville, Tenn., she was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Dean Norman.She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Randall) Wyatt, of Auburn, Ala., and Sylvia (Allen) Dumas, of Minden, La.; her grandson, Jay (Bren) Revis of Atlanta; granddaughter, Lisa (Stan) Bolding, of Harrison, Ark.; and great-grandson, James Revis, of Atlanta.She graduated from Bryan College and taught school in the Rhea County School System for many years. She was very active in her church, Evensville Baptist while living in Evensville and Calvary Baptist in Minden, La. She volunteered with the American Red Cross in Dayton and worked many hours at the Rhea County Medical Center as a volunteer. She loved gardening and spending time working in her yard.A graveside service will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Norman Cemetery on Back Valley Road. Stan Bolding will conduct the service.
