Annie Beatrice Phipps, 98, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at an assisted living facility.Ms. Annie was the owner of Phipps Janitorial Services.She was a womens guild member of Basilica of St. Peter and Paul and an active member (parishioner, Eucharistic minister and lectern.She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Phipps; daughters, Marilyn Yvonne Dowell and Johanna Marie Harris.Survivors include her grandchildren, James E. Harris II, of Hagerstown, Md.; Beatrice "Annie" and Sheridan "Dan" Reaver, Emmitsburg, Md.; great-grandchildren, Brittany Reaver (Paul) Johnson, of Knoxville, Md.; Ashley Reaver, of Boston, Mass.; expectant great-great-granddaughter, Knoxville, Md.; brother, Willie Leroy Smith, of Chattanooga; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.In lieu of flowers, please provide a donation to Basilica of St. Peter and Paul.Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at Basilica St. Peter and Paul with Monsignor George Schmidt officiating.Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chattanooga.The body will lie in state after noon and the family will received friends from 46 p.m.; Rosary at 6 p.m. today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
