Evelyn Grant

Evelyn J. Grant, 90, of East Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013.Mrs. Grant was born in Wellington, Ala., to Albert and Bessie Johnson. She was a member of Nixon Chapel Methodist Church in Nixon Chapel, Ala., and the East Ridge Garden Club.She was preceded in death by her husband, John Grant; her parents; and siblings, Milford Johnson, Malcolm Johnson, Lois Hill, Doris Hinton, Grady Johnson and Chula Brookshire.Surviving are her children, Carlton (Rachel) Grant, of Ringgold, Ga., Lee (Debbie) Grant, of Ringgold, and Star (Jimmy) Brock, of Chickamauga, Ga.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Merrell Johnson, of Chattanooga, Blair (Nell) Johnson, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Urban (Jean) Johnson, of Birmingham, Ala.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 28, 2013, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Chattanooga Memorial Park, Red Bank, with Rev.
