Freda Cunnyngham

Freda M. Cunnyngham, 92, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was a member of the Blackfox United Methodist Church and also attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She served as children's Sunday school teacher for a number of years. She was born and reared in Cleveland and graduated from Bradley Central High School and Edmondson Business College. After 37 years of service with First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Chattanooga, she retired in June 1984 as Corporate Secretary. She was active in the Professional Secretaries International (formerly NSA); having held a number of offices. She was recognized in her professional organization when she was named Secretary of the year for 1956-1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. (Chub) Cunnyngham and Ethel Payne Cunnyngham; brothers: A. Blair Cunnyngham, Charles R. Cunnyngham and infant Jimmy Lee Cunnyngham; and sister, Bernice (Charles K.) Harmon. Survivors include her sisters, Betty (Paul B.) Huff and Robbie (Bill S.) Quinn; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
