Deacon Robert Moore III, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, in a local hospital. He retired from Planters after many years of service. He was a faithful member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where he served in many capacities, including being on the deacon board, in the male chorus, member of Men of Vision and many others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nannie Moore Jr.; granddaughter, Matrice Morgan; and brother, James Moore. Survivors include his devoted wife, Eugenia Moore; daughters, Cassandra (Michael) Crutcher, of Columbia, S.C., Karen (James) Ward, Robbin (Clifton) Johnson and Keisha Moore, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Robert Brown, Attilah Brown, Jamee Ward, Maya Johnson, Jamaal Ward, Corbin Crutcher, Makenzie Johnson and Timothy Rice III; great-grandchild, Rhilynn Brown; sisters, Frances Moore Jones and Dorothy Moore Bryson, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service is noon Friday in the chapel with Pastor Ternae Jordan Sr. as the eulogist. Burial: Forest Hills Cemetery.
