Garnett Forrester

Garnett Leonard Forrester, of Flintstone, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a member of the Flintstone United Methodist Church, and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a retired home builder, and was a charter member of the Chattanooga Valley Lions Club. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Sarah Bradford Forester; and a sister, Marion Key. Survivors are wife of 63 years, Mary Kathleen Forrester; sons, Mike (Sue) Forrester, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Gary (Carmen) Forrester), Chickamauga, David (Cathy) Forrester, Flintstone; brother, Ellis Forrester, Flintstone; sister, Patsy Puckett, Cleveland, Tenn; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visit www.heritagefh.com to share condolences with the family and view the memorial tribute. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Flintstone United Methodist Church with Mike Forrester, the Rev. Dwight Herod, the Rev. Janice Keebler and the Rev. Vernon Windon. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
