Thomas Irvin

Thomas Earl Irvin, 85, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1928 in Altoona, Pa., to the late William Nelson and Mary Elizabeth Irvin. Mr. Irvin was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Perserverers Sunday School Class. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Electric Company after 36 years of service. He was an Elder in Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg, Pa. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ann Louise Irvin; one son, Michael (Kate) Irvin, of Altoona, Pa.; one daughter, Cindy (Mark) Donaldson, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Ben Irvin, Matthew Irvin, Jessica Donaldson, Andrew Donaldson, and Lauren (Adam) McCrary; one great-grandson, Abram McCrary; and one brother, Larry (Ann) Irvin, of Huntingdon, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. day, Dec. 10, at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Dr. J. Render Caines officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Alto Reste Park Cemetery in Altoona, Pa. Additional services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in the chapel of the Good Funeral Home, Inc., in Altoona, Pa. Pastor Mark Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 8451 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421; or online to the Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org.
