Jerry Wayne Landers, 72, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at a Rome, Ga., hospital. He was a native of Huntsville, Ala., had lived many years in Dallas, Texas, and the past nine years in Trion. He was a truck driver by trade for 40 years and he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. His passions in life were his family, his career, helping others, and his friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Landers; and uncle, Virgil Brown. Survivors include his daughters, Laura (James) Lapin, of LaFayette, Ga., Tammy Parks, of Trion, Ga., and Lisa Landers of Trion; mother, Rosie Landers, of Ringgold, Ga.; brothers, Larry Landers, of Chattanooga Valley, Bobby Landers, of Ringgold, and Roger Landers, of Ringgold; sister, Pat Hope, of Ringgold; five grandchildren, William Gamel Jr., Candyss Hudson, Brandon York, Danielle Travillian, Kaylie Parks and Haley Lapin; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
