Alan Campbell

Alan Gary Campbell Alan Gary Campbell, 55, a Chattanooga native, author and technologist, passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. Alan Gary was a frequently published author in the fields of music and music technology. He was contributing editor and columnist for Electronic Musician magazine in Emeryville, Calif. from 1983 to 1997. His music technology service and repair shop was named by Moog Music Inc., originators of the Moog synthesizer, as one of their top ten service centers worldwide in 1985. His grandparents, Rome R. Benedict Sr. and Celia Benedict, were founding members of the Brainerd Methodist Church, and his mother taught Sunday School there. He is survived by his father, Amos G. Campbell; and half-brothers, Marshall Scott Campbell and Patrick Steve Campbell. A Memorial Service will be held at Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road in Chattanooga, at 11 a.m. on Friday Dec. 13.
