Gilbert Cecil

rGilbert Cecil Gilbert Cecil, 86, of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, in a local hospital. A native of Pakistan, he immigrated to the United States in 1984 and became a faithful member of the United Methodist Church. He was a medical technologist and radiologist. He ran his own clinic in Pakistan. With a very kind and generous heart he was always willing to serve others. Loving kindness was his trade mark, which earned him love, trust, and friendship of people wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jiwan Gunda Mall and Rahim Bibi Mall; his brother, George Merrill; sister, Mabel Iris Mall and his wife, Victoria Gulab Cecil. He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Cecil, and David (Farah) Cecil; daughter, Sheeba Parvez, sister Dorothy (Anoose) Taj. His grandchildren include Sharoon, Jasmine, Sarah, Rebekah, Joey, Joshua and Jonathan. There are a number of nephews and nieces and their families including a large extended family. A celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Younis Farhat and Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
