Tommy Jerome Johnson, 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was a member of The Church of the Nativity in Fort Oglethorpe. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School and the owner and operator of East Ridge Sports Shop for more than 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Jerome and Erma Ruth Johnson; and special friend, Mary Griffin. Survivors include his two brothers, Gary Johnson, of Fort Oglethorpe, and Justin Cabe, of Chattanooga; three sisters, Glenda Wright, of Ringgold, Ga., Diane Tate, of Rossville, and Wanda Cabe, of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, in The Church of the Nativity with Rev. H. King Oehmig and Rev. Betty Latham officiating. Entombment will follow in Calvary Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
