Joseph Slavic

McDONALD Joseph Slavic, 98, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. A native of Yugoslavia, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States on Jan. 28, 1938. He was a member of the Ooltewah Seventh-day Adventist Church and was preceded in death by his wife Jennie Slavic; daughter Nancy Branum; two brothers Alexander Slavic and John Slavic. Survivors include four grandchildren, David Branum, Sharon Miller, Dale Branum and Jennifer Mahdavi; five great-grandchildren, Shawnna Evans, Brandon Petry, Tiffany Branum, Samuel Branum and Jesse Branum; one great-great-granddaughter, Evali Branum; son-in-law Allen Branum; sister Mary Sufka. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Ooltewah Seventh-day Adventist church with Pastor Mike Pettingill officiating.
