Raymond Simpson

Raymond Louis Simpson, 83, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away, Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his home. He was the son of the late Samuel C. and Myrtle Simpson and was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ruth Simpson; daughter, Janet Simpson; great grandson, Isaac Vandergriff; and brother, Edgar Simpson. Raymond retired from Koehring Southern where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include his four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Carr (Johnny), of Winchester, Tenn., Brenda Lucas (John Michael), Karen McNair (Larry), Susan Lee (Jerry), all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Simpson Parker (Robert), of Lake Harasu, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday Dec. 16, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. John W. Carr officiating. The burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with Eric Carr, John Hill, Michael Lucas, Thomas Lucas, Talmadge Geathers, Chadwick Lee, Christopher Lee and Michael Lindie serving as pallbearers. Tommy Moyers will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
