Betty Deaderick

Betty Dale Deaderick of Laurel Crest Retirement Center in West Columbia, S.C., died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of James F. and Martha T. Dale of Chattanooga. Betty lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area and was the executive secretary at Orange Grove Center in Chattanooga from 1963-1993. She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Deaderick III in 1957; and by a son, Robert Dale Deaderick, in 2005. Betty is survived by two sons, David (Nancy) Deaderick, of Lexington Park, Md., and Douglas (Dianna) Deaderick, of Lexington, S.C.; two grandsons, John Deaderick and Mark (Jennifer) Deaderick, both of Nashville; two granddaughters, Amy Deaderick, of Sunland, Calif., and Beth (Nathan) Laws, of Cudahy, Wis.; one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters. She was affectionately known as "GranBetty" by her four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Laurel Crest. Chaplain Joseph Crump will officiate. Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
