Pearl Elizabeth Carver, 93, of Chattanooga, went peacefully to be at home with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. Born in Columbia, S.C. on July 31, 1920 to the late Arthur and Lottie Perkins, she was born again in 1933 at the age of 13. She came to Chattanooga in 1938 with her late husband, Leonard and lived here until her death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Charlie Perkins; and infant twin sisters. Pearl worked a few years at Red Food/ Bi Lo as an assistant floral clerk. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, gardening, ceramics and being with her family. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a member of the WMU there. Survivors are her beloved daughter, Gayle Sims; two grandsons, Mark (Donna) Oldham and Michael (Pam) Oldham; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Eugene (Jeanie) Perkins; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel with the Rev. Bill Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
