Becky Kelsay

Carrie Evalyn (Becky) Kelsay, 80, a long-time resident of the Chattanooga area went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013. She was born on March 20, 1933 in Graysville and attended Central High School. Becky was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. Becky was well-known as a very talented musician on the organ and used her talent in several local churches. She was preceded in death by one son, Francis Donald Kelsay; her parents, Francis and Lura Swearingen; brothers Bill, Ben, Chick, and Tom Swearingen; and sisters Francis Mae Norman, Martha Seaton, and Mildred Green. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, W.O. (Orman) Kelsay; daughter Judy (Charlie) Talafuse, Lewisville, TX, sons, Billy and Donald Kelsay, Soddy, Tenn.; grandson, Eric Talafuse; great-grandaughters, Erica and Mandy; sisters, Grace Fults and Betty Ann Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday Dec. 27, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bert Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 466 Riverside Drive, Suite D Chattanooga, TN 37406. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Legacy Funeral Home.
