Hiram Laws

Hiram Laws, III Hiram Adoniram Laws, III died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was born in Lynchburg, Tenn., Oct. 23, 1913. He was preceded in death by his parents Doctor Hiram A. Laws Jr., and Cora Faulkenberry Laws; and his wife of 67 years, Catheryne Wilber Laws. He is survived by his wife Jane Lewis Verlenden Laws and family, Patricia Ann Laws Elkins (Don), Mary Catheryne Laws Sulser (Leon), Christie Sue Laws Coolidge (William Parlin), Catherine Verlenden Eldridge (Jim), Dr. Lane Verlenden (Judy), John Verlenden (Jorge), and his faithful friend and caregiver Jan Williams; 8 grandchildren, Heather Guffey (Rodney), Tripp Dudley, Mary Elizabeth Oropeza (Louie), Christopher Hulsey, John Mark Hulsey (Weatherly), Catherine Hagaman (Lance), Brandon Coolidge, Kimberly Coolidge; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was educated at the Greta Wert and McCallie Schools, Emory and Saint Louis Universities. He practiced General Dentistry for 61 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 59 years, Chattanooga Rotary Club, the Mountain City Club and certain Professional organizations. He served in England in the United States Army Air Force during World War II.
