Mildred Stallings

Mildred Louise Stallings of Chattanooga, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013. She was born on March 27, 1936 and raised in the Whiteside, Tenn., area. Wife of Pastor Edmon Stallings, of Ooltewah Church of God, her life was filled with ministering to others in faithful service to the Lord Jesus. Mildred was a full time Pastors wife for 47 years, womens ministry leader, youth leader, Sunday School teacher, retired executive bookkeeper for Jewish Federation, the worlds best Mother and Nana, fabulous cook, two time cancer survivor, heart surgery survivor, and Red Hatter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Bernice Jeffery; and three brothers, Willard, Mickey and Tommy Jeffery. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Rev. Edmon Stallings; two daughters, Tabitha and Teena Stallings; two grandchildren, Ethan and Ellen; sister, Linda Privette; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 27, in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Danny Colter and the Rev. Joe Mercer officiating. Interment will be in Fuller Cemetery in Ider, AL. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today Dec. 26, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
