Chevis Hudgins

Chevis "Tom" Hudgins, 61, went home to spend Christmas with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at 11 p.m. He had lived most of his life in the North Georgia area and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ooltewah. He was Born again on Feb. 17, 1974 and was an Evangelist for many years. He was previously employed with Affordable Tires for more than 18 years and was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lee Beth Hudgins; and his brother, Billy Hudgins. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 44 years, Mary Ellen Garrison Hudgins, of Birchwood, Tenn.; children, Sandy Enke, Mark Hudgins, and Lee Anndia Harris, all of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Tommy Hudgins, of Ringgold, Ga.; three brothers, Jack Hudgins and Travis Hudgins, both of Rossville, Ga., and Manley Hudgins, of Flintstone, Ga.; sister, Joyce Land, of East Ridge, Tenn.; 8 grandchildren, Shelly Hall, Alex Walker, Michele Hall, Sierra Enke, Braxton Hudgins, Hannah Enke, Keanneth Anderson, and Haven Harris and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, Dec. 28, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. James Langston officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
