Joanne Mossburg

Joanne Groover Mossburg, 79, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. She was a graduate of Tyner High School and Tennessee Wesleyan College. Mrs. Mossburg was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church where she was the church secretary and organist for many years. She is now with her husband of 50 years, Norman Mossburg; and her parents, Harold and Grace Groover. She is survived by her sister, Jeanne Murray of Hixson. She leaves behind her three children, Conli (Wilburn) Masengil, Scott (Dana) Mossburg, Karen Mossburg and her beloved grandchildren, Jared and Melissa Masengil, Hillary, Spencer and Tyler Mossburg. A celebration of life service will be conducted at the Valley View Chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, with the Revs. Al Miller Jr., and Ken Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson. The family will receive friends for visitation on from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at 11 a.m. on Thursday until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Adult Four & Five of Oakwood Baptist Church.
