ROSSVILLE, Ga. Velma Sue Mullens, 78, went to be with her Lord Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. She was born in Dunlap, Tenn., to the late Virgil and Nellie Kerley. She was a member of Rossville Church of God.She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Mullens.Velma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bill Mullens, of Rossville; children, Venice Kendrick, of Chickamauga, Stanley Mullens, of Rossville, daughter-in-law, Donna Mullens, of Chickamauga; siblings, Virginia (Larry) Pharr, of Arizona, Everette (Debbie) Kerley, of Rossville, Avery (Marieta) Kerley, of Ringgold; grandchildren, Nicholas, Connor, Corey; and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the caregivers and friends at Mary and Marthas for their loving care and devotion to Velma and her family.Services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the chapel with Rev. Dwight Deal officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens-South. Family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today and prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
