John Winston

John Henry "Skeeter" Winston, 88, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in a local hospital.A native of Lafayette, Ala., he was a longtime resident of Chattanooga. He was a member of Orchard Park Seventh-Day Adventist church and retired from Hamilton County Schools.Skeeter was a gardener and fisherman and loved the Atlanta Braves. He was married for 66 years to Susie Kirk Winston, who survives him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Winston Jr. and Louise Scott Winston; sister, Mary Ellis; daughter, Lydia Asare; and grandson, Mark Anthony Winston.Survivors include his wife, Susie; children, Juliette Winston, Barbara Winston, Brenda Winston, Johnnie M. (John) Baker, Johnny M.
