Ruby Winton

GRUETLI-LAAGER Ruby Elizabeth Winton, 86, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.She was retired from Bell South Telephone and had lived in Kodak, Tenn. until moving to Gruetli-Laager due to her health. She was a member of the French Broad Valley Baptist Church, The Pioneers Telephone Operators Union and the Bluebird Cancer Society. She was born in Coalmont, Tenn., on Feb. 3, 1927 to Wilson and Lydia Scruggs Crabtree who preceded her in death along with her husband, Jim Winton; sister, Sue Brown; brother, Tommy Crabtree.She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Tony) King; sisters, Alma Woodlee and Violet Anderson; grandchildren, Joey (Nadene) King, Beth (Kelly) Myers, Bobby (Holly) King, Lorrie (Jamie) Meeks and Jill (Nathan) Myers; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Tyler Shrum, Annie King, Nathanael and Eli Myers, Lily and Amelia Meeks; loving nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Tony and Bobby King officiating with burial to follow in Coalmont Cemetery.Visitation: 4-9 p.m. today at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tenn. www.laynefuneralhome.com.
