IDER Arvil Gay Powell, 72, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Parkridge Medical Center.Survivors include wife, Alice Tigue Powell; son, Ernie Powell; daughter, Faye Powell; grandchildren, Victor Evans, Dixie Pennington, Bobbie Jean Hooks, Natalie Hamilton; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Vernell Powell, Sale Creek, Tenn.; sister, Betty Barnes, Daleville, Ala.Mr. Powell served in the US Army and was a member of Ownbey Chapel Seventh-day Adventist Church.He was preceded in death by parents, Leslie and Bernice Laney Powell; son, Kenneth Powell; brothers, Almond Powell, Harold Powell.Leave condolences online at www.cornerstonefuneralchapel.com.Funeral services are at 1 p.m. CSTFriday at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with burial in New Hope Cemetery.Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until service time Friday.
