Bobby Hooper

ALTAMONT Bobby Gene Hooper, 67, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2013.He was a retired businessman, government employee, truck driver and farmer, a Vietnam veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the New Life Ministry Church in Altamont. He was born in Cruso, N.C., on March 30, 1945 to Zach and Ruby Rickman Hooper who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Merle and Homer Hooper; sisters, Betty Creasman, Thelma Thomas and Carolyn Horstman.He is survived by his wife, Zelda Deitz Hooper; daughters, Angie (Chris) Oaks and Cindy (Tommy) Golden; grandchildren, Chelsea, Erica, Cheyenne and Camden; brother, Sammy (Janice) Hooper; loving nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mack Hampton officiating with burial to follow in Hooper Cemetery in Skymont.Visitation: 1-2 p.m. today at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tenn. www.laynefuneralhome.com.
