Royce Ritchie

FORT OGLETHORPE Royce F. Ritchie, 78, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, peacefully at his residence.He was a native of Hickman, Ky., and had lived most of his life in Fort Oglethorpe. He was an accountant having worked for John Martin Construction for 20 years and retiring from Mayes Construction Co. in 1998 with 10 years of service. He was a member of Rossville Church of Christ where he served with the Harvest House Ministry. Mr. Ritchie was a United States Army veteran and his passions in life were God, church, family, Atlanta Braves baseball, and reading biographies.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joanne Ritchie; and two sons, Stephen F. Ritchie and Brett Ritchie, both of Rossville.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Harvest House Ministry c/o Rossville Church of Christ at 1100 McFarland Ave., Rossville, GA 30741.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the South Crest Chapel with Minister Jack James and Minister Phil Burse officiating.Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory, Gardens, South.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
